Strengthening Our Connection with the Plants During Our Experiences

In order to get the most from our experiences working with the plants in these truffles, we must stay quiet & reasonably still to stay truly connected to them once we consume them. The same was true even with my many experiences with Peyote.

In Peyote meetings you sit in the same spot for approx. 12 hours & for the most part you say nothing. You are supposed to keep your eyes focused mostly on the fire in the center of the teepee. Looking around at others and even shifting your body around too much is considered rude and distracting but these ‘rules’ also keep you plugged into the experience 100%.

In contrast, after a peyote sweat(lodge), which lasts only a few hours at most, most people sit around & talk with one another. The Peyote’s influence is still just as strong but even with such a strong psychoactive plant, the act of conversation and socializing and doing other small things distracts that direct connection with the plant & tones down the experience significantly.

This is all the more true with the plants we use in these truffles as even though the experiences can be profound, they are so much more gentle and subtle. Paradigm shifts in thought can happen, but unless we are quiet and still, they will be missed. We must be quiet and still and ride their wave and watch them unfold.

The shifts are like a domino effect and if we aren't quiet enough to stay with its gentle influence we will miss seeing how those dominoes go down and affect so many aspects of our thinking as the dominoes continue to branch out and touch more areas. We need to gently and quietly ride out these experiences..and this can take a bit of practice. For some people it may even take a few tries before they feel that connection.
